The Working Together – Combating Structural Violence against Indigenous, Racialized, Migrant Women and Women Labeled with Intellectual and Psychiatric Disabilities, initiative is a recent project led by IRIS. The project brings together populations of women in Canada who face structural violence as well as some of the highest rates of abuse in the country.
Community Town Halls are taking place across Canada in Vancouver, Saint John, Toronto and Regina, where people are gathering to learn about the issues of systemic violence affecting each group, and to reflect upon and discuss how we can work together across communities and sectors to collectively address violence against Indigenous, racialized and migrant women and women labeled with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.
The next Community Town Hall is taking place in Toronto on Wednesday, April 13, 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto (16 Spadina Rd.) Registration is free and refreshments will be served.
